Hi everyone! My fiance had has medical done yesterday August 7 and has his interview on August 20. Anyways I was wondering if I would be able to reschedule his interview for next Thursday August 15. I told him to schedule the interview a week after he got his medical done but he insisted on waiting another week because he was afraid there would be a problem during the medical but since he has passed the medical exam yesterday I thought maybe he would be able to reschedule it. Any advise would be great. Thanks :)

You should go for it. Zyra's original appointment was for Aug 14, which was the earliest date available at the time we got the MNL#. Her medical was done on July 24, so I suggested she check for earlier appointments. She was able to get a July 31 appt. and now she will be here in the US prior to her original interview date!

To reschedule you have to first cancel your existing date, until then you can't see what is available. If there is nothing earlier available, you could end up with a later date then the one you just cancelled.

Food for thought.

Just stick to the first scheduled interview. You never know, things can get messed up.

Thank you for the advice :) We decided to stick to the original schedule.

Thank you Hank & Oliver-Chris. We decided to just stick with the original interview date as things might get more complicated or the date may get delayed if there isn't anything available. I don't want to risk having any problems now that we are so close to being together :) At least it will give us 1 more week to go over things that he needs to bring to the interview so that we don't forget anything as I am not able to be with him when he goes for his interview :(. Does my fiance need to bring a copy of my birth certificate when he goes to his interview? If all goes well how long does it take to deliver/pick up the visa once it is approved?

Nope. USEM has the file from USCIS so your birth information is on file.

Everything required by the embassy is listed in the instructions letter. Print a copy use it as a checklist against what you are bringing and you should be good to go.

Delivery - embassy states up to 2 weeks after issuance.
