Did you change page layout today?

Now I see [My Followed Topics] [Recent Topics] [Latest Immigration Posts] [Recent Status Updates] on the left almost every page! It's annoying and posts doesn't fit in a flame good...

It looks like the right hand column now takes up a full one third of the space, which does appear intrusive and much bigger than it needs to be.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

On the forum views, I see a large white space column on the right side and at the top of that blank column it simply says, 'text' next to the Start New Topic button.

Edit: Scratch that. Now it just has the blank column to the right without the word 'text' at the top of it.

Trying to fix. I am also trying to add visa approvals and other items so folks on the forums can see who is approved. This was only on the homepage before and not really visible.

Admiral: Would really appreciate as much across-the-page view as possible for whatever forum I'm in, with little (preferably no) sidebar distraction. Those of us who've needed a brain transplant for years shouldn't be given headaches or eyestrain that push us over the edge and make our need for said transplant obvious to everyone, no man.

I'm trying to get a consistent side bar for the site. Right now things are all over the place. I know it is different. Hopefully since it is only about 16% of the overall width that is ok --- 16% max and probably less for most folks.

I was thinking to let it run for 48 hours. If there are issues then I can remove it but I want to give it a chance. If we can get things more consistent that is good. Right now a major complaint is the inconsistent navigation. This isn't the final fix but a step along the way.

I'm hoping things are pretty minimal. I would like to make a more consistent yet thin (only 160 pixels) sidebar. Many sites either have a very wide one or even embed things in the first post. I think that is pretty intrusive. I wanted to also add something useful like visa interview information for our members (recent approvals and interviews today). I can change or add things if you have ideas.

Fwiw I started last evening by simply adding the main forums page sidebar to all forums but members said it was too wide (300px or so) so I changed it to the current one.

In below chart, column titles (VJName, Date of I-751 etc...) was fitted in one line before... sad.png

Maybe you can just reduce the overall font size if you can't remove that side bar???

California Service Center (19 applicants, 8 approved - 42%)

VJName............Date of I-751....NOA1 Date.....Biometrics......Approved...
SPARTAK.............03/04/13.......03/06/13.......04/08/13.......07/30/13...(Early Bio 03/29
)
