Let me start out by saying if you think buying a house is hard?...I never thought anything would be tougher. This has been. I am in the US and my finacee is in Australia. Did my paperwork got the i 797 sent her everything. She got the interview they said all is good...handed her a good to go slip then 2 days later its in admin processing. I 797 form says she has til 8/15(4 months total) and no status has changed on the link they gave us since 6/28 almost a month after the interview. Looks like itll expire before they do something. What to do if this happens? How can you give them a kick in the pants? Can you extend the date? And with who? The US that issued the i 797? o the consulate in Sydney? Very faustrating but damn it well stay the course. Any thoughts or advice would be GREATLY welcomed. Ty Nick

Hi, Admin processing, not uncommon, just means the embassy needs to check out or verify documentation/evidence. This step can take as little as 10 days to as long as 6 months. As long as your petition is in processing your "expiration date" will be extended. "No worries mate," just be patient and stay up-to-date with your petition status. Best of luck!
