I was always under the impression the fiance visa was considered a non immigrant visa but whenever I go to the website to check the status of our file ,when I type in our case number etc under non immigrant visa it says it can't find our file then I type our case number using the immigrant visa option and that seems to work.confused :-/

Yeah this was confusing for me as well - but I learned they call it "non immigrant" but they get handled and treated like "immigrant" visa because your actual goal at the end after adjusting your status is to immigrate - just the k1 by it self is non immigrant because if you enter the country it isnt valid anymore so its basically not an immigrant visa - only in combination with AOS.

Yeah K1 is actually a mixed visa , non immigrant with immediate immigrant intent. You are interviewed like an immigrant but if you arrive and don't comply with the terms you are deportable like any other visa overstayer

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
