That's sad that a few people who clearly have issues cannot even allow us just one space to celebrate and support each other. Sometimes I wonder about the wisdom in returning to the US, when there is so much division and hatred. That being said, there are many wonderful people of all persuasions, so I guess we can't let them get us down smile.png

Wonderful news today about the Dept of State - looks like we have the green light to go through all the way!

And thanks to everyone for all the wonderful messages of encouragement - as many have said, we are all in this together.

And, I forgot to add a thanks to the moderators for keeping things in line with TOS!

Looks like you were transferred from the VSC to the TSC. Check in the K-1 Progress Reports forum for many posts on this topic.

Good afternoon everyone,

So, my fiancé and I decided to file for the K1 visa. Being an immigrant myself, I have been through a few immigration processes when the I485 was like $400 dollars and it used to take 3 years. Wow! What days those were..... So I filed the petition (I am the USC) last Friday and I got a confirmation from UPS that they received it today... I am just starting the process, and it been very informative to read these forums..... I guess my question now is, my fiancé lives in Mexico, is the CDJ the only consulate that processes the K1 visa? He is actually an hour away from the Mexico City embassy, but I read somewhere that they do not process the K1 visa in Mexico City.. Does anyone know? Also, I live in Florida... I am guessing that the case will go to TSC or what happens once the packet is received at the lockbox in Lewsville? I would appreciate anyone´s comments.... thank you so much and I will keep posting updates as we go through the process....

Also, I did not send the affidaivit form, that´s for the interview if necessary, correct? We have been together for two years (back and forth almost every other week) and I was super excited when DOMA was struck down.... It was not actually until late last month that USCIS updated their FAQs on same sex marriage...

Thank you again and I hope to gain great information from those of you who have been thru this...

The petition will go to TSC since the petitions that used to go to the VSC are going there now. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=405247ce85e50410VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=e7801c2c9be44210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

Yes, the only place to do the medical and interview is Juarez. They are the only consulate in Mexico that handles K-1 visas. The ASC appointment can be scheduled to be done in Mexico City before traveling to Juarez, but you might as well do that in Juarez too since you have to go there anyway for everything else. You will indeed need the I-134 affidavit of support for the K-1 interview. If you want to start researching about the process for the interview phase and going through CDJ, check this post > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/438076-what-exactly-do-we-ask-the-nvc-for/?p=6327340

Did any July same sex filers receive their NOA2 yet?

One same-sex July I-129F filer reports that she has already received her NOA2 out of the California Service Center. A number of us have had our petitions transferred to the Texas Service Center. Several July opposite-sex couples are reporting that they have received NOA2s on their I-129F petitions from TSC within the last week. So it looks like things are moving, although I will be more comfortable when I see a same-sex petition receive an approval from TSC. It certainly doesn't have to be mine, but I just want to confirm that there aren't any "agendas" at work down there.

Hello all,

I have already received my NAO2 on 8/22/13 and yesterday received the letter stating that my packet is now on its way to the NVC. I'm sure all of you can imagine the elation I felt when the NAO2 came, to now know that they can not tell us no anylonger, and are definitely not....at this point anyways. Me and my girlfriend are hoping that we will have her visa by beginning of november. We have already collected all that is required for packet 3 so bring it on NVC!!
