When I checked the above site it shows CSC is now dealing with applications with a receipt date of April 2006. :( However On this forum I am reading that some have had a two month processing time.

Am I reading the website wrong?

Timeline

The processing times on the USCIS website are just a bit of insurance for them. It's to keep people from calling all the time about their case. They usually set that date 6 months back, and say not to contact until your application is out of that date range. However, you can use the timelines people provide on this site to get an estimate of how quickly (or slowly for that matter  ) the service centers are going.

Good luck!

People occasionally take as long as six months or more to get approved by CSC, but most files get through CSC in two or three months. The date on the USCIS website is very misleading. It really just means people from after April who are still waiting shouldn't call to complain, because their cases are within "normal processing times". But most people get approved much more quickly.

 If you read the disclaimer, you will see that they give themselves a six month time frame to complete visas. So what you see is the date of last few files being completed from April. Guess they found a box of them somewhere!!! But dont worry. They are doing current ones also. Wish you luck in your journey.

I try to explain best I can. Someone with more experience will come along and give more detail.

I think I was late filing for AOS:

07/27/07: Mailed AOS papers to Chicago mailbox.

08/02/07: AOS papers received in Chicago.
