Does it make a difference which language is used for the interview. The local mother language or english. My wife speaks both fluently but I wanted to know if it makes any difference in terms of chances of getting your case accepted faster.

my wife can speak english and urdu fluently.

she asked to use urdu in the interview in Islamabad simply because it was her first language and to ensure there were no communications.problems.

An interpreter was available.

The interviewer apparently told her that he understood urdu also when she lapsed into english but to continue to use urdu as she would be more comfortable.

So - in my opinion it doesnt matter....

Does not matter you can use whichever language you want to use and are comfortable using it.

You can request for interpreter but if you can undertsand the question in english and want to reply in english you can do that, if you don't than interpreter can help.
