how long did it take for the consulate to provide the documents necessary for you to travel. my fiancé and I were approved on the 12 , its been ten days and still no passport.

I got my documents within a week. But I specifically asked to collect my package at the embassy because I wanted to travel before Christmas. Did you check your visa status on CEAC. Has it been issued yet?

thank you,

I emailed the embassy and they told me his visa package was mailed on monad. So we should get it by the end of the week with the holidays and all.

Merry Christmas to you and safe travels.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight. My fiance got his visa today from DHL, but not the sealed documents that says "do not open" for POE. Does the embassy in Trinidad mail that separately? Or was he supposed to get that in the same packet as his visa?

Thanks

Hello my fellow Floridian!

I have not heard of the sealed documents being mailed separately. I would email the embassy to find out the status. My fiancé received all of the documents at one time.

Hope this helps.

Hello thank you. I did email them this morning just waiting for them to respond. We requested that he picked up his visa, so I'm thinking since it wasn't in there with it that it might be mailed separately? Not so sure.

His experience at the embassy was great. He arrived for his appointment time at 7:30 am and waited about an hr before he was called up to the Trini lady. She asked for his medical and opened it at that moment. She asked for my financial information and anything else he had to show proof of relationship (pics, etc). After she took those documents and told him to have a seat. He waited for a little longer and was called for his interview. He was interviewed and the dude was real cool and nice. He literally asked him three questions....when we met...where we got engaged....where I stay when I come....and they had some small talk. But the dude said he can see this relationship is real and that my fiance was approved. He said the actual interview it took about 20 mins all together. He had no issues and had an overall great experience.smile.png

its so ironic to go through almost a year of waiting just to be approved in a 20 minute interview. smh. My fiancés interview was also short and sweet. He will be here in 9 days!!
