hello all

today my attorney got the packet 3 in California and send application to my fiance in Armenia to sign and than return to California and than attorney will mail all to embassy in Armenia to get the packet 4 .

is this normal ?

Well through my experiene I have a lawyer in CA also my fiance is in Cairo he did all the paperwork for my fiance and he is sending it to him then my fiance is taking all the info. that he has and he is putting it with the lawyers paperwork and he is going to send it to Cairo himself. My lawyer i realized we didn't need him at all he slowed us down alot. So I told the lawyer to send the applications to my fiance and he would add the rest. Even doing this we have been working on packet 3 for almost 2 months now. I didn't want the lawyer to send everything to the Embassy i trusted my fiance to do it.

I would also like to add that the back and forth with the signing and everything took even longer for us. And the medical forms, and the police records my fiance would have had to send all this to him and it takes like 6-9 days to recieve anything from Egypt. So we thought it would be better for the lawyer to just do the DS156 and the DS157 and the I134 forms and my fiance did everything else.

8/23/2006----NVC sent our petition to Cairo Embassy.

8/25/2006----Recieved NOA2 Approval letter in the mail.

8/28/2006----Recieved NVC letter with new case number.

8/31/2006----Cairo Embassy recieved our petition.

9/24/2006----I emailed the Embassy reguarding my fiance's packet 3.

10/17/2006--Cairo sent packet 3 for the second time to my fiance. First one was never recieved.

10/19/2006--Packet 3 recieved.

12/20/2006--Packet 3 sent.

12/21/2006--Cairo Embassy recieved packet 3.

2/21/2007---Packet 4 recieved.

3/12/2007---Interview (He Passed)!

3/12/2007---Administrative Processing begins.............God please help me get through this!

7/17/2007---Our 2 Year Anniversay!!!

10/23/2007--7 months and 2 weeks of A/P and still waiting..........God help me!

4/22/2008---2nd Interview ( keep us in your prayers)

4/22/2008--He was approved for the Visa 2-3 weeks until he recieves it in the mail lets hope so!!

6/03/2008--VISA IN HAND! Thank you god!

7/03/2008--Our Wedding Day!

Hi,

Most of the people here are driving this process by themselves, if there are no special conditions that requires legal advice.

I've heard from many people here at VJ that heaving a lawyer involved just complicated a case otherwise simple. And it cost money also.

You may run a search on this forum to read what other people with lawyers wrote.

So... I have no advice, just a thought.

2006-10-24 - Received NOA1 from CSC

2007-01-24 - NOA2 - Approved !!! - Yes!

2007-01-30 - NOA2 - arrived in the mail

2007-02-01 - NVC - Receipt Confirmation date

2007-02-05 - NVC - Receipt arrived in the mail. Case number assigned.

2007-02-09 - Receive at US Emassy - Bucharest - Romania

2007-02-12 - Packet 3 received in the mail

2007-02-14 - Packet 3 shipped back to Embassy

2007-02-23 - Medical exam - Done

2007-02-28 - Visa Interview - VISA in hand ...

2007-04-22 - We broke up

2007-06-16 - Decided to give the 2nd chance

2007-07-02 - Arrival in the US - POE - Denver Intl Airport

2007-09-29 - We've got married!

2007-10-15 - AOS-EAD-AP mailed out

2007-10-25 - NOA

2007-11-29 - Biometrics appointment - DONE!

2007-12-20 - AP - received

2007-12-27 - EAD card received

2007-12-28 - Apply for SSN

--- troubles with EAD verification for SSN----

2007-02-14 - SSN Received

2008-03-11 - AOS Interview - Passed - Green card in the mail within a month
