So it appears that our file has been dusted off an someone has looked at it. That's the good news.

The bad news is we got RFE. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to update the spreadsheet for me?

Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. Do you have a mobile phone/device that connects to the internet somehow? If so, you can download "magic jack" and make free calls to the US.

You can call the US number from Skype - you choose the country and at applies the appropriate code. You'll need to load credit onto your Skype account though and given the wait times other people have experienced calling USCIS, I'm guessing you'd need a bit.

I use Skype, and as long as you have a reliable internet connection its the best!. Its also free, and calling from the UK for 200 minutes would cost me the earth!

Not from a mobile, these days less and less people have fixed "home phones" as mobile tariffs are cheap and all inclusive....

I have a skype subscription, you can take them on a rolling month by month contract. With this I receive free UK landline/fixed line calls, US & Canada land/fixed line calls as well as mobile/cells.

Given that yesterday we were on the phone for 2 hours 45 minutes to USCIS, you'd probably spend more money in Skype's pay as you go credit than you would taking a subscription for 1 month.

The beauty of this is that I can dial these numbers from either my laptop or my cell phone and I don't have to worry about costs because it's paid up front (I actually paid 1 year up front which benefited me a discount). And best of all I can call by US husband when I'm in the UK and call my UK friends and family when I'm in the US,

So how long is it taking to get a case number from the NVC these days, for those of you who have been approved? Just curious as to what kind of a wait I'm in for after NOA2.

Currently they're saying 30 business days. It should be 10-20, but they're falling behind. NVC has had my case for a calendar month, no number yet.

Lovely. And how long after that until the interview? I've heard 4.5 to 5 months after. It's just awful. I thought it'd be faster than USCIS, but maybe I was wrong.

If you're ready with all your paperwork, send documents via overnight delivery, etc. I think it's still possible to get through NVC in two months after getting your case number. I hope so! CSC received my RFE on Feb. 14th. Hopefully they don't delay the decision for too long!
