hello,, we are new to the visa journey,, i have a few things i need to know ,, we filed my husbands i130 pettion march17,2012, they cashed the chk a few days later ,, so far i hv not got a email from uscis, they did however send the noa to the wrong address and it was sent bk to the uscis ,, i called them to make the address correction and they said it will be resent to the correct address ,, i am a us citizen temproarily living in india with my husband during the visa process ,,it is now july 2013 and when i called the uscis a few days ago they told me my case has not been assigned to any one yet,, wht does tht mean and why hasnt it been assigned to any one yet ,, still no email from them and im still waiting on my noa,, i hv gave them my sisters address so it should all be ok ,, and also about sponsorship and cosponsor ,, we have my bro lined up to cosponsor my husband along with me ,, but my bro make just enough to cover the financial guidlines and me and my husband are planning on using our joint savings we have in india to help with meeting the obligation any opions or input would be greatly appreciated ,, thk u

Its only been 4 months dear. It's usually 5 to 7 months be patient.

The co-sponsor doesn't include the US citizen, Only the # in there household and the immigrant.

Remember you do have to setup domicile before your husband immigrates here.

Okay which is your file date March 17, 2012 or 2013?

our file date was march 2013,, I put the wrong year by accident ,, we tried to delete tht one but its still showing up in visa journey

Do you have your receipt/case number? If so then the NOA isn't really necessary to have in hand.

What they mean by not assigned to anyone yet is exactly that. They haven't started working on your file yet.

However did you talk to the first person who answered the phone or did you request a tier 2 or Immigration Service Officer? If you talked to the first person who answered the phone, called a CSR or Customer Service Representative, they can only see what you can see online and nothing more. They can correct your address or put in a service request after 6 months, but nothing else. Always ask to talk to a tier 2 or ISO when you call to get the most information.

yeah we got it, talked to the 2nd tier representative and she said to wait till 20th july to get noa1 if not than call back but she also mentioned that its not important to have noa1 cause there is nothing on it and noa2 has the priority date on it so the second one really matters right ?
