Here pretty soon we will have to start the process of Lifting Conditions for my husband. I have absolutely no idea how to begin this. Could anybody help me with how they got started with theirs and what is required? I could look it up but I get all cornfuzzied when I try to read the websites. I know there are quite a few of you who have gone thru it so I trust your advice

Visited Jordan-December 2004

Interview-December 2005

Visa approved-December 2005, 1 week later after supplying "more information"

Arrived U.S.A.-December 2005

Removed Conditions-September 2008

Divorced in December 2013

Where do we send it? Do we send fees at that time or wait until the interview? Do we get a packet or something that tells us what they want us to bring as evidence? Sorry for all the questions but the only way to get answers is to ask questions right? :hehe:

Mohammed's cousin's both just went thru the lifting of conditons. Neither one had an interview. They just sent in some things and the 10 year card came in the mail. You will have no problem. I think they sent a copy of a lease with both names and a utility bill.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-751.pdf Pretty staright forward. Informs you on paym, ent type, where to mail it. Spend some time and do a search on VJ, lots of info. Many have listed what they mailed in as proof. Take some time and search, many dont have time to keep listing the samer info over and over again. Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

thanks..i wasn't trying to be a pain ... I just have been really busy and have been wondering about it .. just didn't have time to research it....I'm not stupid (I promise  )I DO know how to search for things .... but as I stated... I just haven't had any time to do the searching and I knew that the ladies in here would be happy to help if they knew the answers......I didn't think it would hurt to ask what ppl knew before searching ...

After I posted, I realized that the post was not where I originally posted it... Now I feel REALLY stupid...I wanted to ask the ppl in ME/NA forum because that is where I do my business. I wanted to know their personal opinions on this subject and I never expected that it would be moved...never even thought about it. I never navigate outside ME/NA so I honestly didn't remember this forum existed until now. Now I know why the last couple posters thought the way they did ........ thanks for the help you provided.. I'm sure it will be a great help to me.

I wasn't trying to be rude, just that there is a lot of info on here, and many that have gone through the process, don't keep reposting the info everytime somebody asks the same question. Best of luck
