Received an automated email from USCIS and they are resubmitting what is to be going to the NVC. What scares me is that I believe our packet goes to the NVC so the USCIS must've never sent it in the first place. 2+ weeks of more time gone by and taken away from us both being together. Hopefully it won't take too long for the NVC to get the information so we can get our paperwork finished and he can get his medical and whatever is needed before his interview. Fingers crossed for everyone.

I called today at around 1 or 2pm and they hadn't received it. Then I called at 11pm & I got the great news that they received it today AND assigned a case number. I know many of you must have also been assigned a number late Friday night too!!!! I had asked my Congressman for help. I'm not sure if it helped because I haven't heard from his office recently. However, he had inquired when it was first transferred for me!

Thank you guys for all your support. I have my fingers crossed for you!

Congrats - awesome news for us TSC transfers! our first case number!! so happy for you! :)

I'm hoping I get the email about the sending it to DOS early next week and a case number next Friday..I'm about a week behind you. :)

I received my NOA2 in the mail today. It states the petition has been sent to "the above named consulate" but doesn't specifically say it went to Trinidad. My NOA2 was July 3rd and i'm a feb vsc to tsc transfer. Ill be calling on Monday to get more solid details. Good luck to all of us.

I also got that same message in my NOA2. I think if there are no listed consulate, it went directly to NVC.. Likewise, double check it to make sure! :)

my noa2 does not list a consulate or priority date....is this normal?

If there are no written consulate, they are sent to NVC then NVC to your consulate. If you nave question to clarify this, you can contact your embassy/consulate. :)

Yes. K1s do not have priority dates and they go through the NVC before being sent to the consulate. It's the NVC that will be sending it to the consulate and USCIS doesn't know or care which one, thus they can't list it.

hello All,

I am Fellow Dec/2012 filer who received NOA2 from TSC (hard copy NOA2 on 7/19).

fortunately I was able to complete our I129f successfully without an attorney...everything seemed pretty clear with the instructions. ....but now im a bit lost as to what happens next.

How much is the Affidavit of Support?

Do I wait for the NVC to contact me...or should I complete and send the AOS as soon as I get a case number?

Are there any other documents the NVC will need from me before sending off to the Brazil consulate?

My fiancé is already preparing documents on her side of the coin.

thank you for any input.

and ...congratulations to us all for getting the heck out of Texas.

My NOA2 was 7/10 and embassy is also Brazil. I'm still trying to figure out the next steps too but I did find that the embassy schedules your appointment. I'm not really sure of any need to call and get NVC case # because we don't make appointment and fiancé can't get medical exam before embassy schedules appointment. I don't believe NVC will need anything, it gets sent to embassy, they schedule the appointment, then fiancé brings all paperwork including affidavit of support to interview. If anyone else has better information or clarification I'd appreciate it. I'm a bit unsure how we'd find out about interview date, will they mail it by post to fiancé in Brazil? Yes, looks like Brazil schedules the appointment for you, so all you have to do is wait for them to receive it and sent a letter with the interview date. No need to call NVC to get a case number except for your own info to know the progress of the petition.

For other countries where you must schedule the interview yourself, it helps if you know the case number right away as a lot of times you can schedule and not wait for the embassy to send you a letter, so you save a few weeks. If you live in a country with horrible mail service, you might never even receive a letter from the embassy, so knowing your case number and that it got to the embassy is crucial in that case.

Called last week and the NVC never received our file. I had to send an email to the NVC research to find out where it is. The next day I received an email from USCIS resubmitting the info to the NVC so hopefully it won't take too long since I waited a lil over 2 weeks to call NVC to find out our case number. Unfortunately finding out that the time was wasted and I wish I would've called sooner. We're hoping to hear something shortly but I did go on another topic and found out this information:

NVC Contact Information

www.immigrantvisas.state.govwww.immigrantvisas.state.gov

Email NVCInquiry@state.gov

You will need to include NVC case number or in our case USCIS receipt number

Petitioners name and date of birth

Principal Applicant's name and date of birth

Their phone # is 1-603-334-700 M-F 7:30am thru 12

Just called the DOS number. A very friendly woman answered the phone and told me they still don't have my case. I received notice on July 9th that my case was sent to the DOS. I'll probably call the NVC later, see if they have anything different to report.
