Hi! We need help..we just moved to an apartment last month and im filing for roc next month.. Our problem is i cant get my wife to the lease of the apartment coz of her credit history.but that doesnt stop us from living together. That's my wife. They can't separate us just because of her credit history. Now, our problem, do we need to send the lease contract to uscis even if its only under my name? Thanks!

Try to get a letter from a landlord that states that you and your wife are living together and that she/he could not put your wife on a lease due to her credit history.

Does your wife have a state id or drivers license? - you could get one for her and change the address on your license (to show the same address for both of you)

Did you notify USCIS about the change of address?

Do you have a lease from your previous address that shows both names?

Don't know what state U R in, however in Texas kids & all occupants in house/Apt name goes on lease as occupants

and obviously the kids is not expected to help pay rent (minors), so ask if occupants names can listed on lease, not

for credit purpose but for proof of residence

I dont think it should be a problem to get her on the lease in spite of not having credit history as long as you are responsible of the rent. You just need to add her to your lease to show that she is living with you.

If not, try to get her name on utility bills and change both of yours driver's license to show the same address.

Thanks for all your replies! We're in california..we already changed our address both uscis and dmv..the problem with dmv is they dont send you a new id until its time to renew..but our id right now have the same address(previous address)..and the landlady obviously wont write a letter coz they're not allowed to have somebody live in the apartment without having a credit check even as an occupant..i know its crazy..not fair coz we're couple and were responsible for each other..but the internet bill is under her name..and i out her on the renter's insurance..would that be ok?

Sorry..it should be "i PUt" her on the renters insurance..
