Hey there,

Quick question on the adjudication date of our I-130 process;

When I first filled out our timeline, it said to expect news before the end of June, 2013.

(If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition).

But then when I went online today, I see the date is pushed forward to between July 12 and August 3.

We did not receive a RFE in the mail, or any news for that matter.

My question is: how does this date get pushed forward over the time range of just 1 month?

And: is this normal?

I'd love to hear you guys' feedback on this subject.

Thank you so much in advance,

Thijs

The timeline is based upon other people's timings, and is an estimate, so that's why it keeps moving. (mine has been too - when I first filed it said expect NOA2 around end July, now it's looking more like early to mid September.) I think just take the VJ timeline lightly, and use it as a rough indicator (you might get lucky and receive NOA2 earlier!)

USCIS (239 days):

04.18.2013 - NOA1

12.13.2013 - NOA2 via email; I-130 approved. Shipped to NVC

NVC (274 days):

12.30.2013 - Arrived at NVC

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

03.19.2014 - Made payment for IV bill

03.21.2014 - IV bill showing PAID

03.24.2014 - Completed DS-260 online

03.29.2014 - Mailed IV Packet

04.26.2014 - IV packet all approved, false checklist from NVC for AOS packet

05.07.2014 - AOS packet sent

06.12.2014 - AOS packet scanned in (took them THAT LONG to do it)

07.29.2014 - Received checklist via email

07.30.2014 - Sent re-filled AOS form, as per checklist instructions

09.24.2014 - Case Complete (FINALLY)

09.30.2014 - Case leaves NVC

Embassy:

10.29.2014 - Medical

11.04.2014 - Interview in London - APPROVED

11.05.2014 - CEAC - Issued

11.07.2014 - Courier email

11.10.2014 - Passport and visa received via DX courier

In the USA:

12.02.2014 - POE (Denver)

12.24.2014 - ELIS changed to "In Process"

01.05.2015 - Greencard received in mail

ROC:
10.05.2016 - NOA1

12.13.2016 - Biometrics

11.13.2017 - Infopass Appt.

03.30.2018 - Approval

04.05.2018 - Greencard Arrived

you definitely can not go by the vj timeline any more

99% of the 130's have been forwarded to local offices for processing, which is why you will see recent 130's approved with huge swings in filing dates

have you confirmed where your case is?

either way you are in really good shape

if it stays at nbc.. probably three months to noa2

if it is at your local office.. any day now http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=67&charttype=1

Hmmm, well it's still less soon than I was hoping to get it.

I've read a couple that passed it all in 5 months...!

Now that's something I'd like for sure :-)
