Medical during period, is it ok?

So I wonder when they check the breasts in some countries, what are they looking for?

I have noticed some correlation of the breast check with age. I wonder if they only do it at an age where the woman may be of an age to be getting mammograms. Don't know for sure, but it feels like that may be a reason.

whilst i am very pleased at all you not having to go through the invasive 'genital check' it makes me so mad that there seems to be so many different rules, after what i had to go through with my kids at the medical thursday it just doesnt seem fair that others escape it yet i had to force my children to go through it.I am still struggling to come to terms with it all :(

There are big differences between the countries, that's for sure. I only had the X-Ray taken, blood and urine checks, vision test (I know that in some countries this is not done), and a swift overall check-up.

I never had any genital checks, the doctor felt my abdomen, listen to my breath, and my heartbeat, felt my glands, looked in my ears and eyes. I never had to remove my underwear.

To be honest, I think you should be writing a very stern letter to that doctor's office. Also your soon to be spouse should be contacting someone (congressman/senator) that his step-children had to go through a ridiculous part of a medical exam that they wouldn't even have to do during a regular physical with a doctor! It was unnecessary and the policy at the doctors should be changed so that they are NOT being invasive with children. While children should feel safe with doctors and nurses, this isn't needed for immigration. How ridiculous. I'm infuriated for you and your family.

Were they touched in any way? It's just supposed to be an external check to validate that you are the sex you're claiming to be.

I personally believe I "escaped it" because I am quite obviously a woman ("blessed" my mother calls it :S) but also because he asked about my latest pap-smear and i either had one coming up or I'd just had one and he had me fax him the results (which I did). Others I know who went to the same doc did have the genital check done I believe.

It's not supposed to be "invasive". It's just to validate gender so an external, no-touching external genital check. I understand your outrage, but the docs (if doing it right) are just doing what they're supposed to do, validate the sex of the people at their medicals.

I get validation of gender of the person. Even for children but their birth certificate should show what gender they are. They should be comfortable and this should be something easy to deal with if it is an actual genital check. Having read this person's review however, I suggest you do the same. The discussion of it is off topic.

I apologize for derailment.

I will have my medical check up on Friday and i'm wondering if it's ok to do it when i'm on my period or should i reschedule the appointment?

Hey there, I'd like to double confirm with you that my period wont interfere my medical check up result in Medikaloka clinic, is that true?

Cause I checked their website and they say :

Female applicants within the reproductive age group are advise not to schedule their medical examination during their menstrual period. Otherwise, they will be required to come back one week after the last day of their menstruation.

I called the clinic just now, they said it doesn't matter and it won't cause problem with the result. The result can take up to 7 working days, they'll need to send phlegm sample to RSCM. That's why it takes a bit of time to get the result.

How many vaccines do you need? Did you ask them if they have all the vaccines you need?

I didn't have my period during medical (fortunately) so I wasn't worried about anything and hopefully what they said is true. Doctor only checked my tummy, my neck. Nurse only checked my heart beat, my eyes, chest-ray, check blood, that's it, You can take the result when you have all the vaccines you need.

In my case, I had to find one vaccine outside from medikaloka cuz they ran out of the supply, it was Varicella Vaccine. I searched almost everywhere and found it only in Siloam Hospital. I decided to wait for a month cuz the doctors in Siloam and RSCM explained to me that the Varicella vaccine should injected together with the other three vaccines so it will work in my body, doctor suggested me to wait for 28-30 days if I want it works, i decided to wait cuz I didn't want to waste money if I injected it that time. And I'm glad I did wait for a month ;)

It's better if you ask first so you can find the vaccine in other place and get it all injected in one day (you can inject it in the next day but it won't work in your body system).

When you get the result don't forget to ask the DS-3025 cuz you'll need it for AOS.

Good luck!

I work in Siloam and had a consultation with a GP here about which vaccine I'm gonna need for med check up. He said I don't need hepatitis B vaccine cause I still have a positive anti Hbs (I got the lab test result) and I don't need varicella vaccine either because I was infected when I was a child. So he only suggested to get MMR and Td (tetanus, diphtheria). I got those covered already. so what left is only flu shot I guess, and tetanus toxoid?

Maybe you mean the varicella vaccine should NOT be injected together with other vaccines? so you had to wait a month after your injections in Medikaloka. I'm confused.

I made a note for DS-3025 form, thanks for that.

If you can present the proof of the vaccines you have got to medikaloka then you're fine. Even though you were infected when you were a child you need to show them the result of that vaccine shot you had, they will ask you to have that vaccine if you don't have the proof.

As I said before, doctors said that those vaccines SHOULD BE injected together in one day cuz two of the vaccines are "alive vaccines" and the other two are "dead vaccines" (ahhh its so Indonesia, lol), i don't know the proper english for it.

Those "alive vaccines" should be injected in the same day, if we have only one of the "alive vaccines, and we want to inject the other one on the next day we better wait for 28 to 30 days (as suggested by those doctors but that's optional cuz if we want doctor to inject it less than 28 days they will inject it but it won't work in our body system)

Oops, sorry for the long explanation :)

I get what u mean, so there are two doses with 1 month interval in between. But cant you just receive 1st dose during check up, get medical result and make an appointment to interview in usem then receive another dose after interview? So you don't have to wait a month do nothing.

The main point here is the proof data showing we get the shots right? This will be required for further process during aos?

Thanks for the info though, really appreciate it.

Yes, as long as you have the vaccines records and show it to medikaloka. They will check and decide if you need any other vaccines. They will do other things needed i.e blood test, eyes check, etc. then you can get the result 7 business days and ask for an interview date from embassy.

The DS-3025 will be the only form needed for AOS, they will give you a copy cuz they will give the oriiginal to the embassy.
