Sorry to hear that. I was hoping against hope that you'd be able to sneak in and get it done.

Aww, thanks UK-US. :) now that we will miss that date, I think we will try to pick a reasonable date so we can start booking some things..will still only push back our date a couple weeks on the cover letter so he can get here and also help out here...plus we found a lovely Scottish couple to rent his flat so he really wants to be here by 9/1 so he can avoid staying with his parents. :D now we just have to pick a more reasonable date that they won't laugh at us for lol ...

Once they got my case I had number in 10 days .... It's when they transfer to embassy I get hairy ... Dis says it ready for interview but th consulate says they not have it

Here we go again

So, now that they received my case they say it will be 2-4 weeks until a number is assigned. Any thoughts on whether their estimates can be trusted at all right now?

Got my case number today! 12 days since noa2. But when I try to check status it still informs me that its an invalid number. Do I need to put in spaces or dashes or something? Or am I ultimately just not being patient enough and maybe their database hasn't been updated?

Make sure you are using Visa application type as "Immigrant Visa" and then enter your number. There are no dashes or spaces. Give it a try and see if it works.

But aren't fiancé visas non immigrant?

No, its actually considered an immigrant visa. So choose that on the CEAC website tracker and it should show current status of your case number.
