Thank you!

We received NOA2 on May 16 and the interview was today, June 20. So exactly 5 weeks. We were very lucky with the timing actually, so you should not expect cases to move so quickly. We really wanted him home before Ramadan starts, and the staff at the consulate was great! They were very accommodating for us, and fit him into an interview slot that was sooner than normal. I think they normally schedule interviews for a month out. We are very thankful to the staff at the consulate for working with us! As an extra bonus, he will now be home for my birthday!

All told, interview was 8 months and 1 day from NOA1. We had an RFE that delayed us a few weeks.

Thanks for the answer.

Our petition got approved today :)

So, how long did it take you to get your case number and how long did it take from NOA2 to the embassy?

Can you please tell me what I need to prepare plus the documents posted on the American consulate in Casablanca? Did you mail or fax te ffidavit of support? Did you have a co-sponsor? Are you the one who chooses the date for the interview or the consulate does. How much time did they give him to prepare for the interview? Any additonal details will be very helpful.

Sorry for too many question but I need to prepare.

Say congratulations to your Moroccan partner :)

Congratulations on the approval!!! It will start to get exciting now! I will try to answer all of your questions.

It took our file 12 days to go from USCIS to NVC. Then NVC mailed it Morocco 2 days later. Morocco received it 4 days later. So for us, the Consulate had the file 19 days after the NOA2.

The website for the Consulate contains all of the documents listed. Please see the list here http://morocco.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiance-visas.html

I mailed the affidavit of support becase they require it to have an original signature. I did not have a co-sponsor

The consulate chooses the interview date and emails the beneficiary the letter with the interview date, the information for the medical, and all of the DS forms. Since they processed ours a little differently, they arranged for my fiance to pick up this package directly from the consulate. They generally give people one month from the notice of interview date until the interview. I have heard from others that as soon as the interview letter is received, the first thing you should do is schedule the medical because the doctors give them an appountment 2 weeks later.

I will have a full review up shortly, but it didn't cover any of this stuff. It only talks about the actual interview day.

One more thing I want to put together to keep people informed is a review about the medical. It took my fiance all day and cost way more than we thought it would. total cost was 1870 dirhams.

Best of luck to you!

Hi ! congratulations for being approved! We're also applying in the same consulate in casablanca and just wanted to know :

- Do K1 visa people have interview in the same place as tourist visa or others?

- What did you do when it came to the tabs saying "If your fiancé native alphabet is other than Roman, write in the native alphabet" did you write the info in arabic?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

I'm ot sure if the K1 interview was in the same place as the tourist visas. I believe so, but I'm not sure.

I had my fiance type his full name in Arabic and I tried to copy/paste it into the I-129F form, but it didn't work for me for some reason.

Luckily we were together just before filing, so I brought him the I-129F with all of the other answers typed, and he wrote his name in Arabic.

There are a couple of ways you can do this:

1) Copy/paste typed Arabic if the I-129F form lets you

2) Have the petitioner type out the rest of the I-129F and email it to the beneficiary. The beneficiary can print it, write in the name in Arabic and mail it back to the petitioner (The beneficiary will also need to mail the petitioner the original G-325A, the original Letter of Intent to marry, and the passport photo). then the petitioner signs the completed form.

3) Cut and paste the old-fashioned way: Handwrite the name in Arabic, scan and email it to the petitioner. If the petitioner can print it out in different sizes, then the petitioner can print the written name and the typed I-129F. combine the 2 like an art project and make a photocopy, then the petitioner can put an original signature on the finished product.

Best of luck to you!

Hi damiaaa,

Yes, K1 visa people have their interview in the same place with other people whom applying for others type of visas. For your second question, if the beneficiary or the petitioner has a native alphabet other than Roman, they need to write in the native alphabet. In your case is the Arabic language.

Good luck!
