Question about DS-260 and who the petitioner is

Good morning,

We are entering data online for the DS-260 (yes it is required for Mexico) and in the petitioner information area it asks who the petitioner is. The selections are father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, child, stepfather, uncle, aunt, grandparent, in-law, or self. I (the US citizen) and the petitioner and I am not any of these. I am the fiancee and soon to be the spouse but not yet. What would be the correct answer?

That form is not really meant for a non-immigrant visa like a K-1, so there is no fiance(e) option. You choose spouse.

K-1 chasers use the ds 156k and should have come from the embassy directly as far as I understand it.. but you are definitely using the wrong application for a fiancee

As the OP stated, he is not filling out the wrong form. It most definitely IS required for K-1 applicants going through Juarez. He will also need the other DS forms for the K-1 such as the DS-156 and 156k. The DS-260 comes before anything. You must fill it out in order to pay the visa processing fee and schedule your appointments.

As I stated when I moved this thread to the Mexico regional forum, this is Juarez specific. All the consulates have different procedures and requirements.
