Can anyone tell me what needs to submitted as a tax return....is it only the 2 pages of 1040 or is it the entire return including all schedules and state returns....Thank you in advance for any feedback...

We used transcripts that we ordered from the IRS (for our AOS). Our K1 visa only had his Irish tax returns, so I'm not sure what to tell you, sorry!

One more question...did you order the transcripts of 1040 or complete return including state return as well? Thank you for your help

We just ordered the 1040 transcripts and also copies of his W2's. We sent copies of both in, as we were a little unsure as to what exactly USCIS were looking for. I figured better to be safe than sorry, but I think only the 1040 tax return transcript is required (shows proof of filing and income).

Just submit the Federal return (And you can leave out schedules that do not do much but keep these two if you have them - Schedule A and Schedule C.) State tax returns are not required at any point. Also, submitting the W2s is a good idea though not required if you did not file jointly (say with an ex spouse.) I never used the transcripts - just sent them my printouts from Turbo tax (unsigned copies.) Good Luck
