so my girlfriend is a Canadian citizen, Im an American. so what we hope to do is get married in Canada in her hometown, but live in WA after the honeymoon and all of that. we hope that she would be able to work as soon as we get back here to WA. I've got plenty of time (July 2008) but its never too soon to start right?

so what forms should i send in? when? does she need to apply for a green card? how much should we save for the paperwork? anything else that you guys can think of to help would be great as well... but those are my main questions. thanks! God bless!

You have much reading to do because your questions are all over the place. As aussiewench suggested read the guides and then formulate your questions once you understand better.

YMMV

If you have plenty of time consider CR-1 visa.

You will marry in Canada, but there will be separation time while the visa is being processed.

The advantages are, She wont have to apply for green card when she moves to the states, she will have one as part of the visa.

I read of couples dealing with this and the US Citizen tends to visit the wife north of the border many times during the process.

Also if your SO lives near Vancouver then you will be using the consulate there, the consulate in Vancouver is quite quick once they get the visa petition from NVC.

Again read the options and see which one works the best. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=compare
