Turkey administrative processing

Hi All,

ok so my fiance finally got his interview app. for July 12 at the US embassy in Anakara. We are a little worried, because they said there may be administrative processing that could happen before or after ( THEY SAID MOST OF THE ADMIN STUFF HAPPENS BEFORE THE INTERVIEW) the interview and could potentially delay the visa. My fiance has been into the united states 2 times before. Once on a work visa and the second time on a student visa. Will this help them speed up the process? or maybe he will not get selected at all for more admin processing? Also, if he does get approved by the Anankara embassy in the interview how long will it take them to get him the visa and get him back into the US?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We are all worried about AP in Ankara. The % of people getting AP is very high right now. If you don't get AP I would plan on 2 to 3 weeks for him to get his visa ..My husbands interview is June 24. I requested July 26 off from work. That gives him 1 mo to get this visa... Of course that is IF we don't get AP.

it usually happenend after. Anybody can get pick up. If you are lucky and they give him/her the visa. They will send it 4 to 5 days. However, if he/she get AP, it can be for 2 weeks to 6 months. http://turkey.usembassy.gov/step6_after_interview5.html

Hi,

I just filed our I-129F application and am just beginning the long wait...I am a little new to this forum so can you please tell me why the Consulate would have further Administrative Processing? Is there any way to avoid this from happening? I don't want AP!

they have AP for background check or sometimes checking papers summited are legit. IT is not way around AP. I think if you are prepare mentally it would be better. IT might not happen to you. Good Luck..

Well in early cases I been seen people with CR-1 have more changes of getting AP( Including my husband) than K-1. Check my timeline. I wonder since things are been going on inTurkey. Are you been checking any changes in American embassy in Ankara? Furthermore, are you going for his/her interview?

K1's actually have a higher % of AP right now. There has not been a K1 approved in almost 3 weeks. CR1's are getting between 60-85% AP and IR1's are 40 to 70% AP. I don't have the numbers here at home but I have them at work. I have used the interview schedule to track the 3 since the end of April. Trying to get a better idea of AP

No ..I'm not going to the interview with my husband. I had asked the embassy if I could go and they said no. So I am saving my vacation time for when he gets his Visa so I can fly to the US with him.

Here is what I have found based on the interview schedule for the last 6 weeks. I think there are just to many things that can lead to AP to know whats really going on. Some days seem to have 100% AP where other days everyone get a visa. We don't know peoples cases or any name hits or whatever might cause AP. I think Ankara is trying to help people not get AP for missing paper work by sending out an email telling people what documents they still need to bring to the interview even though the NVC said they received them all.( I also find it funny they even tell you the order they want to papers in the pile.) Everyone can just prepare as much as they can and wait.

CR1’s week of 5/10:20% AP, week of 5/17: 30% AP, week of 5/24: 78% AP, week of 5/31: 56% AP, week of June 7: 60% AP, Week of June 14: 58 %( but missing today’s interviews)

K1’s Week of 5/10: 36% AP, Week of 5/17: 22% AP, week of 5/24: 100% AP, week of 5/31: 100% AP, June 7: 100% AP, week of June 14: 100% (but missing today’s interviews)

IR1’s week of 5/10 : 62% ( 1 refused), Week of 5/17: 75% AP, week of 5/24 100% AP, week of 5/31: 67% AP, week of June 7: 45% AP, week of June 14: 60% (no interviews today)

My fiance (female) from Iran was also interviewed in Ankara for a K1 visa 2 months ago (mid-May) and she got a pink sleep at the end. They took her passport and she had to wait in the hotel for 5 days to find out that they have everything they need and all the documents are complete, but they need additional processing time. US does not have an embassy in Iran so Iranians seeking a visa have to travel to Turkey, Armenia, or UAE to visit the US embassy there. It has been 2 months since the interview and the CEAC website has not updated her status and it just says "Administrative Processing". I have contacted Dept of State but they really dont give out a whole lot of information other than what the website already says. I wish there was a way to get up to date AP status updates. I read about people waiting for their AP for more than a year on this site and I cannot fathom how insensitively these cases are being handled. I am not saying everyone should get a visa. I understand the security issue and they do need to check everyone but at the same time, they have to bear in mind that 99% of legitimate applicants with no security threats and an approximate waiting time would help people like you and me plan their lives ahead. I know nobody listens....I am just venting. I am sure some of you feel the same way.
