London Embassy Questions?

Hi guys,

I feel kind of bad starting a new topic since I'm sure what I need to know is out there on this forum, I've just been unable to find it!

So I am in process of applying for a K1 Visa, and we've been told that it has been approved and sent to the London Embassy for processing. Today I received a letter stating that I will now need to complete the appropriate forms and collect the required documents.

I'm planning on phoning up the doctors surgery in London on Monday to arrange the medical exam, my main question is roughly how long does it take from the medical exam being completed to being given an interview date at the US Embassy in London?

I know I need to post them a bunch of forms and things so I'm planning on completing those over the weekend to send on Monday.

Thank you all for your help, this website is fantastic and helped us save by not having to hire a solicitor to fill out the initial visa form!

I think I've found my answer on the Embassy page

An interview date is *sometimes* issued more quickly if applicants can show that they have concrete wedding/travel plans, but not always. If applying through London, plan for a 10-12 week wait in between the Consulate's receipt of packet 3 and the actual interview. E-mail is definitely the best way to contact London if necessary.

Its a bit contradictory though isn't it? As the Embassy advise you not to plan anything until your visa has been approved.

You have to also fill out a form and a cover letter confirming you have all the documents you need and would like to request a interview.from what I've been reading the interview will be around a month after

I have my interview two weeks after they received the results of my medical (the interview will be 18 days after the medical actually occurred). However, I did have evidence of my wedding date which I sent along with my 'readiness' form and covering letter.

If you are planning your medical, I take it that you have your Police Certificate? Has your petitioner completed the I-134 and given you the supporting documentation?

And, yes, the Embassy site is contradictory in places. Most of your questions will be answered in the thread that Nich-Nick linked to.

No. London doesn't publish it's interview slots because London does not allow you to book your own appointment (it is assigned for you).

its just becuz some one from india told me that she use to go on website and check all the interview appoinments with their case number ,so then she could guess that if it is closer to her number or no !!! this would be greattttt
