Hmm. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It might be something as simple as the medical results or background checks haven't come back yet. Some consulates also don't give you the visa when you go in for the interview, i'm not sure if manila is one of those or not.

I am sure it's just a name check because she had her first name changed had all supporting docs but was still put on AR

Are you certain the "we will call you" message was not just referring to their SOP. They always call before delivering the visa.

Dear jamrok,

You're not alone.I am also on AR from the time of my interview Oct.12,2006(CR1)until now.The USE gave me a paper thats 221g with a box marked "wait til you hear from us".I dont have any idea why they put me on AR becaause the CO even made a joke that i shouldn't blame him later if its too cold in New Hampshire but he still put me on AR.Its been 6 wks yesterday that im on AR.Ask your fiance to be patient and so are you because even you have all the proper docs from her changing her name, the USE wanted to check it directly from NSO.Is she from Manila? She can send pm to me or email me m_hunter923@yahoo.com.Its quite good to talk to someone who is also under the same situation sometimes.Hope she'll have her visa soon.

What's a SOP? I will check with her later to make sure what the paper said...she said it's a white piece of paper.

Mhel....I called the Embassy and they told me that it's a routine check to verify info (which I think is to verify the name change) I will give her your e-mail so you both can communicate. Hope you get off AR soon.

Sorry to hear ur visa journey is delayed a little while longer. But hopefully it only means a phone call from the embassy to some phil. agency and she's on her way to be with you. Is it me, or does the embassy appear to be much more strict on checking documents and such? What seemed like just a rubber-stamp interview process a year ago, is now turning into a more worrisome ordeal at the Manila embassy.

Sorry to hear that you are awaiting AR on your issuance of the visa. But it does sound like a routine name check from what you have stated and maybe the turn around time will not take too long. Good luck

Mary

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Thank you all for your sincere messages. This is just a routine check because she has a First name change.

Thanks again for your kind words of encouragement. It seems like the Manila Embassy is stricter now than any other time before. For anyone having up coming interviews; pls prepare to the point of overkill...leave nothing to chance. God bless you all
