Hi everyone,

I have another thread on the forum particularly for transferred CR I89 to local office. My i-751 was filed on june 3rd 2013(date uscis issued NOA1) to VSC but just couple days ago the file is transferred to local district office citing further processing. I didn't get RFE yet but case is transferred to local office? Anyone who filed their petition around same time has any update on your case? I saw an article in USCIS website which says the cases are transferred to CSC due to backlog and overload but wondering what trigger them to send file to local office without sending RFE?

Your Case Status: Initial Review


On August 22, 2013, we transferred your CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, to  your local USCIS Office for further processing.  The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed.  If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.


During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment.  We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment.   It is important that you keep this appointment.  If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule.  Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

We just got the same letter - saying that it was transferred to CSC, and we live in NJ, but yet it says "CRI89 APPROVED REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS" - fingerprints were done more than a month ago. What does this mean? I don't understand!

I just found this on the USCIS website.

"The current transfer notice currently contains the following phrase: “CRI89 approved removal of conditions (I89).” That statement means that the biometric portion of the case has been successfully transferred; it does not, however, mean that the petition itself was approved."

It means that your case has been transferred to CSC for further processing. It has not been approved yet.

You are right. The cases are being transferred either to CSC or to a Local USCIS Office for further processing and have not been approved.

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC

8-20-13------Case Transferred to CSC for further processing

8-24-13------Transfer notice arrived in the mail today

10-21-13----ROC Approved!

10-25-13----Received approval letter in the mail

10-28-13----Production of 10 Yr Green Card ordered

11-01-13----Card has been mailed!....Received USPS tracking number

11-04-13----10yr Green Card arrived in the mail today....Yay!!
