How many people have waited over a month to get to the NVC?

After over a month of waiting for my file to get to the NVC, I find out today that It's still at the CSC. I put in a service request last week, and just found out. So basically it's like I just got my NOA2 today, even though it was approved April 24th.

Apparently the request response said something about expediting it, but the wording was to vague to know for sure what, if

I'm curious to know how many other people had or are having a similar situation, and what things might cause it, and if you've been through it, what you did to move things along?

Seems to be the norm now instead of the exception.. I am a week ahead of you and only found out with an infopass.

My service request was generated yesterday.. I am expecting NVC intake within two weeks.. hope you get the same... and just in case I already have another infopass appointment for June 12.

Good luck

I'm not inclined to think it's the norm. I researched igors list, and of the people who were approved the same day as me, over half were at the NVC before 5/10, and none arrived after that.

So either people weren't updating their timelines, or something else is going on.

It's not the norm for K-1 at all, no. I've been watching Igor's List too, and although not everybody inputs the NVC dates, those that do range from 3 days (sigh, I wish!) to about 3 weeks, so a month still stuck at CSC is absolutely atrocious.

It's my impression that CR-1 takes quite a bit longer to get to NVC, so I wouldn't extrapolate from CR-1 dates.

Relationship since April 2006

Have you started anything other than a service request? Congressman, Representative, Omnibudsman, etc??

That is where you will get the real action.. uscis responds quite quickly to inquiries outside of their own domain.

The reason the cr-1's take additional time is that most of the files are consolidated and then batched out to nvc. .there was another user who got this answer from their congressman. This is the situation since local offices have gotten involved in approving the 130's

I've really tried everything I can do. So far:

  • Emailed NVCResearch on May 15th, nothing back on that yet.
  • Emailed the ombudsman on the 16th - no response.
  • Contacted my congressman, the response back was that CSC approved on 4/24, and it takes 3-6 weeks to reach the NVC, so they can't do anything else until it's been more than 6 weeks, so they won't do anything until 6/5
  • Last week finally got USCIS to put in a service request, and there should be something back by tomorrow
  • Still call NVC twice a day to see if it shows up.

Mine's been over a month but since they reopened it nearly a month after approving it I don't know that it still counts. Hopefully it won't be another month after i send whatever the RFE is back!

  • 4 weeks later...
Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Pakistan
Timeline

My NOA2 was dated May 20th. Ive been calling NVC everyday, Ive send an email to NVCResearch twice without any responses other than the initial email. So far its been 5 weeks for me. What kills me is there is another person with K1 that posted his NOA2 posting a few days after, and his petition is already at the embassy (same embassy as mines will go to). His petition also was passed from the same center, CSC.

Right now, I dont know exactly what I should do either... Did you petition go through yet? I call USCIS and they keep telling me to wait. So right now I dont know how long these people want me to wait.

I guess I need to contact an elected official but it seems like i need to wait another week (6 weeks) before they can do anything ... Any advice would be appreciated.
