Yes, someone was told it was a glitch, but people are told lots of things on those phones...some of it turns out to be true, other times it's just the person on the other end saying what it takes to appease the caller. Nobody really knows for sure anything about this change in the system. It is true that people used to get that message about A# just before they got approvals, but they have continued to send out that message to filers well after they found out about this "supposed glitch". I still see people asking about it all the time. One thing is certain though, filers who get the A# right after filing doesn't mean they are getting processed like it used to mean.

What having the A# means in these specific transfer cases is a complete unknown. It could mean that the system isn't glitched and people do get an A# upon receipt of their case at the processing center, but who knows. It may make no difference whatsover, but either way, I think over the next few weeks this thread will start to see some people getting approvals or RFE. At least I really hope they do. You all deserve to get your cases processed ASAP

I read on the topic about Alien registration numbers that if you really get A# assigned than it is really a good thing. There is also explenation by one member there that we all got the same notice after noa1 that our alien registraion number has changed ..... but that was not true, becouse he contacted someone in USCIS and they told him that is like a mistake notice for all dec and jan filers i think. You may wanna serch that topic, it has been posted in january i just can't rememver the exact name od the topic.

If it was a glitch they took a long time to fix it, because we filed at the very end of Feb, and got the A# message beginning of March.

Then again, doing things quickly doesn't seem to be USCIS's forte.

if your fiance didn't have an A# before and has one now if I'm not mistaken (I don't want to get peoples hopes up cause thats been happening a lot the past few weeks hopefully someone can either confirm this or say im wrong) but an A# usually means approval cant be far behind...

Could you please update your timeline to texas...maybe we can get the timeline somewhat accurate for us transferees!!!!!!!!
