My application has been approved and sent to Nigeria. Please, guys who had passed through this processing. What are the items are needed to get ready. Am i am confused about AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT. Do i need to submit two forms for affidavit of support (petitioners & co-sponsor)? Which of the forms should i use (I-134 or I-864).

Thanks guys for your supports and moral advice. Please i strongly need your advices

  • I-134 Affidavit of Support including:
    • I-134 Form (filled out and signed)
    • Statement from Banks about funds
    • Statement from Employer about Employment
    • Copies of last 3 paychecks
    • Copy of last year tax return
    • Copy of w-2 form

This is copied from my list of what I will need after the NoA2 arrives. For the bank statement have them give a statement on when the account was opened, what the 12 month (yearly) deposit was, and how much is currently in there. Make sure they use their letter head or special watermarked paper (Get copies just in case).

As for your employer have them write out a statement on the company letter head that states when you started working, what the nature of your job is, if it's a temporary or permanent position, and how much yearly you gross.

If you are self-employed their are more tax returns you need to submit.

all the requirements are written in here http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134instr.pdf

Best of luck.

I believe if you're using a co-sponsor you will need to submit two I-134s one for you and one for them in addition to the supporting evidence of course... either way it can't hurt to be prepared with both just in case they ask.

In the instructions for the I-134, under Execution of Affidavit it says:

"Form I-134 must be signed in your full name. (Note: Signing Form I-134 is under penalty of perjury under U.S. Law). For this reason, it is not necessary to sign Form I-134 before a notary, nor to have your signature notarized after you sign it."

So no you don't need to have any notary services done to it.

Go to the links atop any VJ page: "Embassy Info" and "Reviews: Embassy." Also, read every relevant thread in your regional forum -- Sub-Saharan Africa -- that pertain to Lagos.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

They will like a transcipt from both , scanned should be fine. Only the actually person is supposed to be able to order the transcript, It is sent to the address the taxes were filed from. No notarization , all notarization does is confirm the identity of a signature. It doesn't nothing about the content of any document.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I really appreciate your effort, support and time you invested to answer questions that bothers me. God will favor you too in all of your endeavor. thanks very much, i really appreciate.
