Hi all, hope you're all keeping your heads up and spirits high while waiting for approvals!! I have a bit of a stupid question, but here goes... Okay, I'm 17 and my 18th is in July. I know we won't get a decision anytime before that (VSC), which means I'll be 18 when we receive a decision. Over the last two years I've had various medical things going on, unable to graduate and finish high school cause i was signed off by the doctor as my big brother died in 2011 (1 week before final exams.) I was unable to get employed so I was on Job Seekers benefits up until September 2012 when i started a Mechanics course at my local garage. Since then I had a dirtbike accident and separated my shoulder and tore my muscles etc so now Im waiting for surgery which makes me unable to work again.. so I'm having to claim another benefit called 'Employment Support Allowance' here in the UK. Since there are requirements for the financial support side of the visa, will these benefits and tax incomes in anyway affect my chances of getting the K-1 Visa? I am the beneficiary not the petitioner. My fiance (the USC) has no money troubles since he is in the U.S Army and has an average monthly income of $2,000. Thankyou!!!!

August 19th 2013: NVC received packet
August 20th 2013: Case number received
August 21st 2013: Case left NVC and sent to Embassy
August 27th 2013: Embassy received case
September 10th 2013: Packet 3 received
September 11th 2013: Packet 3 returned
October 8th 2013: Medical
October 11th 2013: Received appointment letter
October 29th 2013: Interview (Approved) :DD
November 6th 2013: Visa in hand :DD ♥
November 19th 2013: POE, Newark International Airport
November 22nd 2013: Driving from NY to GA
November 25th 2013: Wedding♥

Current record holder of fastest through the NVC :D

Medical exam in Stockholm April 13th
Interview on May 16th !!!
POE Anchorage July 12th!! 2012

September 2015, interview

The petitioner has to send in proof that they are able to financially support you. You take these documents with you to the interview. Your financial status doesn't have a bearing on it, because it is expected that you would not be able to support yourself, as you are not even immediately eligible for work in this country when you first come over.

February 5, 2013 - Mailed I-129F to Lewisville, TX April 27, 2014 - Received letter for Biometrics appointment April 20, 2016 - Biometrics scheduled (incomplete due to dry cracked skin)

February 6, 2013 - USPS Receipt/Delivered I-129F April 28, 2014 - Received Acceptance NOA1 hard copies for AOS and EAD May 13, 2016 - Walk in Biometrics Completed

One question I see is age. One must be legally able to marry at the time of filing the petition. This may become state specific as each state has its own age restrictions for marriage without parental consent. Then I believe even for signing documents one must be 18 years of age for them to be legal.
