My lawyer was able to get insight and was contacted too see why we have not sent papers, but they then told her she had to have evidence of my approval -__- and nor her or i received anything

they told her that due to the outstadning number of applicants with the name of carlos(my pose is why the application got messed up and my husbands approval was given to someone else knowing it belonged to him

This is really unbelievable explanation by uscis if what you're saying is true...that because of so many applicants with the name "carlos", your petition "got messed up and your husband's approval given to someone else"??

And your lawyer accepted this explanation? I understand uscis mistakes, but this explanation really seem/sound imbecile.

I wouldn't believe that for a second. Call uscis ASAP and talk to a tier 2. Since they go by case number more than name this whole story sounds unbelievable, you might have the same name but you certainly don't have the same case number!

I agree. It's either your lawyer is stupid or he/she will scam you into paying more.

Absolutely correct. This is asinine. They deal with thousands of people with common names every month and this is the first I've ever heard of something like this.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

LATEST STEPS:

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI
