Did they tell you that your case had been transferred? It took a couple of days after getting my LMA number before I was actually transferred to the consulate.

Ok, so I see many different experiences on here. Some go from NOA 2 to NVC numbers really quickly, and others take longer. However, we got our NOA2 on 4/23/13. NVC still has no record of it. 3 scans and emails have been sent, not response other than the automatic "we process all requests in the order in which they arrive" reply.

USCIS says they have up to 90 BUSINESS days to get it from CSC to NVC...I could walk from Cali to NH faster with the damn thing in my hand.

Any suggestions? I call 2x a week...but am getting burnt out of hearing nothing.

Thanks for any help!

I'm so sorry it's taken so long, that's ridiculous... it's been over a month, have you tried asking them to inquire as to it's location? When i was first calling to see if it had arrived they told me to give it 2 weeks to arrive and up to 3 weeks for them to get it into their system... you're well past that timeframe so I would think you have the right to ask them to do some extra work to find it. I know i've seen someone post on here this week about how they got someone to look for their case. When they found it it had been sent to the NRC instead of NVC. Keep insisting until you get someone to listen to you!!

On another note... for those of you whose petition has left NVC for the embassy...when the embassy receives it will the case status on the ceac web site change to at the embassy or will it not change from in transit? I'm wondering if I have to contact the embassy directly for confirmation that they have it or if the status will change once it's entered into their system...

I found the thread... maybe PM them to see what exactly they did that got NVC and USCIS to put in the extra work to locate the file

Wow, first time I had one of my posts referenced by someone else (that I'm aware of)

Basically, just keep pushing every avenue. USCIS, NVC, and Congressman. Expect continuous frustrations. They stick my the timelines, and won't do anything till you are outside of them. But don't take the 90 day rule as law at USCIS, They always give different numbers, but if you are over 30 days out and you can get to a tier 2, you should be able to get a service request. Just keep it simple. Don't ask them to locate your file, just ask them to "send your file to the NVC" in the request. then wait 5 days, call back and talk to Tier 2 again to find out the results. They will tell you they will send it, but don't count on it, and it would take at least 2 weeks, even if they do.

if the service request doesn't accomplish what you want, they won't put in another one for at least 6 more weeks!

I was told it was at CSC, in my service request, but when NVC found it, it was at the NRC. I've learned that you can't depend on anything they tell you, and until it's at the NVC, keep pressing them.

Call the nvc or email them when they will release your paper to be send to consulate.

  • 3 weeks later...
Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Pakistan
Timeline

Im glad to see everyone's ordeal with USCIS has been resolved. Unfortunately, my application was accepted on May 20th and so far, I'm still in a limbo state. NVC telling me to send them emails at their NVCRequest address... 4 already sent in the last three weeks without responses.

USCIS is just another comedy. Sometimes I find myself also teaching the customer reps that all I-129f applications have to go through NVC prior to getting to a consulate ... Yes, I know what the letter states but trust me.. then they just reply sir you have to keep waiting. Right now Ive filed my "service request" on June 30th and really hoping I can get some results from it, if not, waiting another 6 weeks until I can file another request would be way too much.

I contacted my senators office but really dont know what they can do. Ive been bugging them every two days with calls and emails. Im glad their office is on my way to the office so Im gonna make sure they continue getting bugged until they give me an answer.

Im kind of sad (but happy for others) to see that Im the only in this situation. Just thinking whats wrong with my application? what did I do wrong on it?

Waiting game continues I guess. Rob & Rachel - thats a million for that great article and all the help!!! best of luck in the remainder of the process to everyone!
