DS-230: Employment if only 'house-wife' or 'home-maker'?

Hi VJers,

I've been married to my wife for over 3 years now and have received I-130 approval some time back. Now we are filling out the DS-230, getting ready to send in our IV packet.

My wife has been a house-wife the entire time (we've been living together in Singapore our whole marriage so far).

Under question 12, "Present Occupation", I put "Home Maker".

What should I put for question 32, "List below all employment for the last ten years", if she has not been working?

Should I put "N/A", or "None", or list "House wife" for the 3+ years she's been with me?

For present occupation, you can put NONE.

For "List below all employment for the last ten years", you put NONE.

I agree that you should write unemployed. This is very black and white leaving no confusion. Someone who is a "home maker" might be someone who makes homes!

We all know the terms house-wife and home maker however those aren't actually jobs.

And just to be clear, I'm not saying being a home maker or house-wife doesn't involve work ;) But for the sake of these forms, your wife is no employed so unemployed or even none would be the correct response.
