How to get an interview date

We received our NOA2 on May 1rst. I called the NVC yesterday and was given our "rdj" number. My fiancee' emailed the consulate in Rio with the RDJ number asking for a interview date. They responded they have not received our case yet? My question is that once we are given an RDJ number why can't we get an interview date from RIO? Doesn't having an RDJ number mean that the NVC sent to them already? Thanks in advance

No it means the NVC gave your case a case number. Nothing to do with the consul having it yet.

Call DOS and confirm when the NVC mailed your case out yet and if the consul has it yet.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

In my experience, last month, we receuved our RDJ number from the NVC and about a week later I emailed Rio asking if they had received it (I was persistent with the emailing) and as soon as Rio received it they emailed me back with our interview date! they choose the date for you, about a month out from when they receive the case in the mail.

Remember the Service Center sends you the NOA2 then sends your case on to the NVC then the NVC assigns it to the consulate and physically mails it to the consulate, so it could take up to a month before you know your interview date.

Agree with Elizabeth. Wait a couple more days and then email them again. They usually respond fairly quickly.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help. We will email them again on Monday and see what happens!
