The confirmation letter verifying the terms of the payment arrangement. They will send you one, or you can request one. But why do you need it? Does it impact the income you made that year?

If you have outstanding taxes due you can make a payment arrangement ( or you could contest their findings if you think they are wrong ) When you enter into the arrangement they should send you a letter , and monthly you will get a bill/statement. If your interview is close you can probably go directly to the local office for a written statement. If the amount is small they may not care. The typical reaction to small amounts is to subtract that from your income on your I 864

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

So I think I may have an unresolved tax bill for 2012 that will necessitate being on a payment arrangement with the IRS.

What document do I need to use as proof to the embassy on this?

Thanks.

As long as you have arrangement for payment toward your owed taxes it will be ok. Send in a copy of the letter you received from IRS and if you are going to make payment arrangements or will be paying the full amount now? Make a copy of your check and the payment stub to submit as a proof that you are not delinquent.

Good luck!

1. the letter from the IRS (sometimes referred to as a judgement, in some circles)

2. proof of at least one payment (cancelled check, receipt, anything to show proof)

that's my understanding. i've no direct experience with this.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

It doesn't impact the income at all, just trying to cover all the bases this time with Lagos.

Thanks.

Speedwell is correct. I had a small tax bill for 2011 due to a calculation error by turbo tax software and made the payment arrangement of $25 monthly. I received the confirmation letter and have proof of payment ready.
