Hello,

My fiancé's interview will be in about 2 weeks. I will be accompanying him to the interview. I am in the process of pulling together all documentation and I have a few questions.

  1. Medical Exam Results - Are these forwarded to the embassy or does my fiancé get a copy of the completed medical forms either at the time of the medical or will he be instructed to return to pick up the results/findings?
  2. DS-156, DS156-K and DS-157 - When at the embassy are these forms submitted at the interview window? Why do they ask for 2 copies of the DS-156 and DS-156K?
  3. DS-2000 Evidence Which May Be Presented to Meet the Public Charge Provisions of the Law-

Is this obsolete? Would the required evidence be (employer letter, bank letter, 2012 Tax return, 2012 W2, and most recent pay stubs) My fiancé never received packet 3

  4. NOA2 Copy - Is this submitted with the immigrant visa forms (ds 156/157s) or with I-134? Would the embassy need a copy?

  5. Intent to Marry Letters- Do these letters accompany the police/non-impediment/birth certs? I'm trying to figure out where in the document review process would they expect to see the Intent to marry letters?

I appreciate any insight anyone can offer. I want to make we are well prepared. I've created a master checklist to make sure I have everything with me.

Thank you,

Hi there! I'll try to answer your questions based on my understanding and experiences when I did the same....

1.) The medical exam result(sealed envelope) will be submitted to the embassy upon interview, and the hospital/clinic will give this to the "beneficiary" after the exam or in some cases, it may take few days before the beneficiary can pick-up the result personally, though I'm not sure about the procedures in your country...

2.) I just secured 2 copies of each form before I went to my interview, but submitted only one copy each ...

3.) You can make follow-up to the embassy about the packet 3, all the information abt police clearance, medical, and forms are included in that packet...and they will just give you a website, and you can also check the copy of packet 3 online at the USEM website, you need to know your case number to check your status online. Make sure to make copies of financial docs needed, and at least 2 yrs tax returns/W2(2011 and 2012)...some may even ask for 3 yrs, but it always depends on the Consul...

4.) Just make a copy of your NOA2 and submit, but make sure you keep a copy of that because you'll be needing that for the AOS.

5. The intent to marry should be sent upon filing the 129F...but you can make another copy with more details to be submitted upon interview, but this is not necessarily required...

I'm wishing you all the best in your journey! fighting! Goodluck....

Thank you,

1. They will tell you after medical appt. what day to pick up his sealed medical packet. It is usually a 1-2 days before the interview. DO NOT OPEN THE ENVELOPE.

2. These are given at the initial interview window. They are required forms for the process.

3. This is nothing but an information page in your packet

4. You need to submit a copy with your paperwork.

5. You need to do another set of letters stating you still intend to marry.
