She just sent the petition in and you haven't had your interview yet ? What did she send with the petition and what are they asking her for ? Does she have an account here, it would be better to talk to her directly.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You don't need to do anything. It is up to her to provide the USCIS with the papers they requested, in which case it may be unlikely she will need to hire a lawyer.

Good luck!

When you filled out the I130 it has a space for other names used. Did you include that spelling ? You need to get affidavit of sameness. These are sworn statements that she is the same person ( both spellings are really her )

This is a statement that is made by an official person in her country which will basically say that 'SHEA' and 'LASHEA' is one and the same person.

In some countries a Notary Public or other government official would do this.

She should also go get her birth certificate corrected to show the same name on her passport etc.

good luck,

She needs to find people of good repute to file these statements. The leader of her church, her boss, her teachers, her parents or siblings. She can scan and send you copies to meet the deadline and you send them as copies with a statement that these are exact copies of originals you can present on request.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
