My fiance's is not orginally from Canada. He became a citizen of Canada 8 years ago. My fiance says he needs a school record from home and a police report from his home country. I am hoping this helps someone else! Thanks everyone for the kind words. His family will ship the documents and we should have the visa soon! We were able to cancel everything with without penalties!

I completely understand the need for a police report but I am still confused on the school record request...

Hmmm ... this is interesting, and may explain why we keep getting touched but no interview. My husband is also from another country (Azores, Portugal) and lived in Canada since he was 6 years old. He became a citizen about 10 years ago when he was 28 ... if I have my dates correct ...

Darkchild, where is your husband from? How old is he? If he lived in another country from the time he was 16, I believe you need a police certificate from there. That's standard. But the school report is a new one. Maybe they're trying to verify his biography.

Although I do not mean to diminish your own plight now, this is just one more reason why VJ is so important. I (as many of you know) was born in Canada but lived in the Caribbean from 2.5 to 17. I already have my police report, but now I will walk with my school document just in case.

Once again - I hope this all gets sorted for you soon.

My visa was denied!!! My fiance needs to receive school records from his native country. (was not on the interview letter!) :crying: I am soooo upset we had everything planned out! We have to receive the school records and mail to Montreal. Then they will send the visa. We will wait for God's time. I am a bit upset but I booked a ticket to go to Hamilton, Ontario tomorrow to see him! We both are wreaks right now! Lesson learned never plan to much!!! :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

I am thinking that maybe the fiance is not originally from Canada....

They couldn't tell he wasn't native canadian before they set up the interview? Nothing like waiting to drop the friggin bomb...gimme a break.

Sorry for the unexpected delay!!!!! Hopefully you will get the info they have requested soon and the visa will be issued. I hope you are going to take that trip to see your fiancee as planned that should help with dealing with the delays, have a safe trip and enjoy your Thanksgiving Holidays!!!!!
