Police Records - Authorised Picture Signers

Am I the only person who has marvelled at the idiocy of the list of "professions" who are on the approved signers list. I'm trying to remember if I know any museum curators or "executives". There again perhaps I'll go for my young nephew who is an "IT specialist" - on the X-Box anyway. Oh or perhaps the vetinarary nurse who looks after my dog.

Serious question - is there any need to order multiple copies ? Oh and am I right in thinking a few points for a speeding ticket is not a criminal offence for the purposes of this form ?

My husband ordered two thinking one might be useful to show a future employer that he had a clean record in the UK, since a US background check wont reveal much or will come back "unable to process" because the Social Security number is too new. The embassy gave the one he took to the interview back to him. I heard later reports that the embassy wanted to keep the original for people who interviewed since then. Anyway, he never used either over here, but it was his thought at the time. You won't need it again for immigration purposes. The medical people will want to see it, but they give it back.

  • 3 weeks later...

Can I just ask a police certificate related question. As I am attempting to be mega organised, I wanted to order mine now (as I know it's valid for 12 months.) I am moving house next month, so will that be a problem? Should I wait until I move house and then send off for the police check?

Thanks

it is really stupid who can sign it yes, but the nephew won't work if i remember right they cannot be related to you, and have had to know you for 5 years or something (since knowing someone for 5 years immediately makes it impossible that they could be lieing about their name and other stuff)

I went for my business partner and co-director. That should cover all bases. The nephew suggestion wasn't completely serious :-)
