Bruins Vs. Maple Leafs

Tonight starts the Bruins/Maple Leafs playoff series and also fires up the in-house rivalry between me and Wifey. She's from Ontario and a staunch Leafs fan and I'm Boston born and bread. Should be fun, two of the original 6 going at it. Anyone else gonna watch?

I'm in! I'm a hardcore hockey fan from Toronto so a Leafs fan not necessarily by choice haha! You can't beat an Original Six pairing! I always find it very exciting to see original teams going at it!

I grew up watching Bobby Orr and the B's take on Tiger Williams and the Leafs, love the Old Tyme Hockey.

My Mother in Law is in her 80's and a huge Leafs fan. Last year when we went to Windsor to visit, I gave her a personalized Leafs hoodie with her name on the back.

Ms. Hogan, have you ever been to Oakville, Lake Shore Rd on Lake Ontario?

I’ve never been a hockey fan. Tried to fit in during high school by trying to like it - didn’t take with me.

I really don’t understand how the Leafs have such die-hard fans though. They haven’t won once in my lifetime and I’m no spring chicken...

My wife's brother in law is a big wig at TD Bank in Toronto and he goes to at least a dozen games a year with clients. He tells me most of the people who go, are there to be seen, the hockey game is kind of secondary. I'm sure there is a group of hardcore fans too. The tickets for a Leafs game are ridiculously expensive.

So the B's are up one game to none! Game two Sat. night.

I actually watched an Avs game this year. I only like hockey for the fights. Though if I had to go for a hockey (aka contact figure skating) team, I'd go for Nashville or Phoenix. So hope one of them is in the World Series of Hockey then when ever the hell that is.

In sports new though, the English football league is winding down and it's still 4 months away until College Football Starts. Ahhhh what will I do all summer???

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

As a born and raised Montrealer i hate both of them..however..I want Boston to win, just so i can watch them get crushed by my beloved Chicago Blackhawks. I've had a longer hate relationship with Boston since they were a good team, TO hasn't been in the picture in god knows how long lol.

Ahhh the dreaded Habs, the best hockey team in history and the Bruins arch rival. There's been plenty of good hockey and good fighting between these two over the decades. I was lucky enough to grow up with Orr and Esposito and see two Stanley Cups in Boston as a kid, but after that the Canadiens pretty much had their way with the Bruins until recently. As of late the Bruins have shown to be a bit better than Montreal.

I'd like to see a Bruins /Blackhawks Stanley Cup.

I never watched hockey a day in my life before I met my fiance, but I sure as heck do now. How does anyone live without hockey? I fell in love with the Leafs when I started watching this season since that is his team. Hoping they do well. If not, it has still been a treat to watch heart.gif

When I lived in Canada I wasn't all that into hockey. Now that I am here, I love it! My husband and I went to a Leafs/Caps game back in February. It was awesome! Go Leafs GO!

I know I can't say much,as my Flames suck, but I realize that. I'm over the moon happy Toronto Lost!! I really detest them! Being from Sask---back when there was only 1 game on a Saturday night on CBC--guess which (crappy) team we usually got stuck watching-The Toronto game!! lol I just had a feeling Boston was going to come back and tie it up! Something in the air--or possibly the rum/coke I was drinking!! Riemer played well, and most of the games were exciting to watch!

Pens/Sens game about to start! Fleury remains on the bench, and as long as Vokoun keeps playing well, I'm guessing that is where he will stay! I like the Pens, they are a fun team to watch. Hopefully the Sens goalie remains hot!! Off on a cruise for nearly 2 weeks--no playoffs to watch!! Knew I should not let my wife pick out the dates, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
