Hello everyone

I had my interview today in cairo Embassy and the consular officer finished the interview with me after too too many questions then he told me that i need a joint sponsor then he gave me a paper that states that i need the I-864 and tax return but there is no any G 212 or any of these Gees :D..anyways...he kept my passport ..and when i went to the CEAC to check my case i found this

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

so does that mean am approved and they only need these docs to print the visa or what...he never told me if i was approved or not !!!

Good luck

You cannot be approved until you provide the joint sponsor information requested. He kept your passport, which usually means you WILL be approved once they receive the information they need.

I also had an interview for K1 and is put under 221g. Kept my passport, original birth cert and my fiance original divorce decree.

After the interview, theofficer didn't say anything just gave me the yellow slip and advised to wait for further information from them.

And oh! Not to worry (hope he's right)

Such a bummer! Because there is no way that we can find out how long is the wait.

It's not good or bad. 221g literally means you did not satisfy the consular officer that you were eligible. You failed to satisfy him because your petitioner appeared to lack the financial standing to sponsor you alone, thus your case is a 221g case whether you were told it was or not. You will not satisfy the consulate until you provide a joint sponsor who does have the necessary financial standing. Don't delay.
