Bank account not stellar but I earn a good living.. question regarding Affidavit of support

I've noticed that right after the flurry of approvals from CSC, the next big topic is Affidavit of support. So i thought I'd ask about my concern too. I've noticed that one of the supporting evidence required for the I-134 is a statement from my bank. What worries me is that my bank statement isn't going to look too impressive because truthfully i don't have much saved. I've been with my current company for 3 years now and make a decent 55k a year but before i found this job I was financially unstable. Obviously I've been in recovery mode the past couple of years and haven't been able to accumulate too many assets or saved much money. So my question is, can I get away with just providing a letter from my employer and sending 2-3 of my pay stubs while skipping the bank statement as evidence? Is the copy of the bank statement mandatory? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Bank statements are not needed. If you made over 125% of the poverty guidelines then all you need are Letter of Employment, ITR or 1040s and W-2s and at least 3 mons worth of pay stubs.

Good luck!

What's 125% of poverty guidelines?

I don't have much in the bank either, but I sent them

a letter from my bank, and my employer, just to

be sure.

You'll be fine.

Dumb question, but what did your letter from the bank say?

Jnaz,

It's not a stupid question.

It said Joe Blow has had a checking, saving accounts since...., and his

current checking and saving accounts balances.

I think the visa people are more concerned about having a job,

being able to support your fiance(e).

I sent them three months of pay stubs, plus the letter from

my bank, and a letter from my employer.

I think you need to send only one year of tax returns, but better

safe than sorry.

With that income and that work history, you won't have any problems with Manila. You don't need to submit a bank statement. Your level of current sustained income makes you golden.

Submit your 2012 federal income tax return, your 2012 W-2, a few current paycheck stubs, and a letter from your employer.

It's the qualifying income to show the applicants have sponsorship and will not become public charges while in the US.

You'll find it here, the figures here are at 100%
