REFER TO THIS ---> 2013 Poverty Guidelines: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

You need at least $19,387 for a 2-person household.

If income is insufficient, then yes you need a joint sponsor.

thank you so much

and what abour 19.500 is it good?

thank you

$19,500 is barely past the poverty guideline. It would be a better option to find a joint sponsor. I have seen cases where income is higher than the poverty level and consulates still gave out 221(g), a temporary denial, until they get a joint sponsor.

Firstly, I would like to ask you to :time:.

The NVC is what were were talking about. The I-864 (Affidavit of Support) is where you show your income, and that is asked at NVC. Although, even if NVC accepts it, the Embassy has the authority to reject it during the interview.

The poverty guidelines will possibly change by then. However, it will be likely that $25,000 will be enough for a household of 2. Despite meeting the poverty guidelines, NVC might still not accept it or ask for a joint-sponsor (it depends on variety of factors).

Do you have assets you can use? If not, having a joint-sponsor is always a good back-up plan.
