What is the average wait time after the boimetrics was sent? We our on our final step and sent the biometrics in August 15 2012. I heard that sometimes they skip the interview and send the green card.

You are in the "final step"of what process? Your profile shows that you've filed for naturalization, yet you are posting in the K-1 visa forum, but your post sounds like your adjustment of status is pending? Which one is it?

By the way, how is it possible to "send" biometrics?

My wife is on a K1 visa. I called the US Immigration and they told me the Houston office should only take 4 months. I will get a notification in 2 weeks. Has anyone else had trouble with the Houston office?

After she applied to adjust her status, did she go to the Houston office and complete her biometrics in August 2012?

If she completed her AOS biometrics last August, then she should make an infopass appointment with the local USCIS office and find out what's happening with her case. Eight months with no notice seems like a long time to me.
