I am going to the Philippines to meet my fiancee in person and propose to her in July of 2013. Someone who

married a Pinay told me that when she applies for the K1 fiancee visa and goes for her medical exam, she will

be turned down for her visa if she is pregnant. Is this true? To me that doesn't make sense if she is pregnant with

our child. Does anyone know the FACTS on this?? Thanks for your help.

Thousands of pregnant women are issued K-1 visas. The only thing pregnancy does is

1, you cant get some vaccinations while pregnant which is covered via waiver generally.

2, if she reaches a certain time of pregnancy she may not be allowed to fly to the USA until after the baby is born.

3, if the baby indeed has to be born in the other country they would then have to procure a US passport for the baby to travel on which may take some time.

It is not an automatic turned down, read the other posts,(shots)

If she is pregnant the baby can be born in the Philippines and still be a U.S. citizenship see requirements for report of birth abroad.

Being pregnant will likely cause unnecessary complications and delays to the process. That's why we've made a conscious decision to not get pregnant just yet. So unless you're dead-set on getting a head start on fatherhood, there are options that don't include abstinence...

My understanding is that if my Fiance was to get pregnant before I-129F approval 'She is from Philippines' was that a DNA may be requested to show I am the Father and not another man. We chose to be safe and not have to prove I am the Father.

Good luck.
