Part 7: Time Outside the United States

All,

I am filling out form n-400 for my Citizenship. Part 7: Time Outside the United States, I cannot remember all dates I have been out nor do the passports help me.

Is there a public institution I can obtain that info? Maybe USCIS records? Or, would that be a huge issue if I enter estimated time?

Also, will I have an interview for the citizenship. I though I would have fingerprint and the Oath only.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Best, Leo

I am in the same situation... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/420389-n-400-part-7-time-outside-the-usa/

I'll write a note and make it clear that I am not 100% sure of the dates but that no stay exceeded x days and that they were not too frequent, about every y months.

You can do a rough estimate. You will be having a citizenship interview and during that time you can explain your situation. You must bring all your passports expired and current to your interview. The times you enter the USA they stamp your passport so you should have some record of it unless you drove across the border. In which case they still scan your passport. The most important thing about your N-400 process is that you are truthful on your application and during your interview. Do NOT omit anything as the USCIS will know your background beforehand. Good luck with your application. smile.gif

I just discovered that I make a mistake on part 7 of the N400 naturalization form that I filed in April. My wife has her interview scheduled for May 30th. I overstated on of the trips that we took out of the country. I listed it as 79 days when acually it was only 55 days. Should I schedule an infopass appt. to correct the form or can it be corrected at the interview?
