Service request for my I-130 and my K-3 explaining how we prefer to go with the K-3. She gave me FEB 1st as the date they have to respond. PRAY FOR US EVERYONE. I really want the K-3. It would save us the 2 months at the NVC. If we have to wait for the NVC and then the interview and then the waiver. We are looking at at least another 7 months. I can take 2 months or more off that process with the K-3

Good luck!!! Fingers crossed HARD for you!

Did they actually do a SR on the I-130? Did they give you the Feb 13 date runaround? I was absolutely told they will not do one for my I-130...

They DID do a service request for the I-130. I got the NICEST person for tier 2 . I thanked her over and over for being so nice and being willing to help. She said "I have been doing this a very long time, its all in a days work" I was on the phone just about 40 minutes with her. She tried to do a service request the regular way but couldn't so she found another way. She put me on hold several times She asked me my name, phone number, address, husbands name. and then she typed in exactly what I said. I explained that we prefer the K-3 because no matter what, at our interview we know we need a waiver. Taking the K-3 route will just save us 2 months of the NVC nonsense. We don't care about having to adjust or the cost. We want to save time. It has already been 9 long months of just waiting. My assumtion is that she sent the assigned officer the service request. I have an SR number and a date of Feb 1st for a response. I don't know what will happen... maybe I'll get an RFE because I am "rushing " them but I am just so happy that I finally got a person on the other end of the line who actually did something to help. It goes to show that there "IS" something they can do. I think it helped when I told her that on Dec 30th I was told I am assigned to an officer and was told 30 days. Then when I call the automated line it says an additional 180 days. I asked her what I should believe.. She said to believe the senators office because they have a special department at the USCIS that only deals with the congressional and senator inquiries. And I think she could see something in the screen because she said I know your case is being worked on... maybe thats why she sent the special SR??

Im just so happy I got that nice woman on the other end of the line !! Its hard to find things to be happy about with this process these days..

Thanks so much! I really expected to log in and see more approvals. I figured the reason we got ours today was because we were nearing the end of the 60 day period.

It is bittersweet because I wish everyone else from April had their approvals and we can all move on from this ridiculous wait.

Oh, and in case anyone wonders, I didn't send in a ton of information. His birth certificate was not included. I had one picture of use from each month we've been together, documentation of insurance beneficiaries, photocopies of our credit cards (not joint accounts; he is an authorized user and has cards in his name), and one page from my phone bill for each month we have been together. I was expecting an RFE because I didn't think that was enough evidence.

Upvoted on my part. I cannot imagine it's going to do a lot of good, however I was quite impressed with the original poster. While the comments about the extra-constitutionality of some decisions weren't really necessary, it was a well-written and thoughtful response. It may not help but it certainly won't hurt!
