Time between NOA1 and NOA2

I received my NOA1 back in February of this year. When should I expect (assuming no RFE) to receive my NOA2? I know it can vary, but I am simply looking for an average (deciding if I should visit soon or not). Called USCIS, they don't know they say.

I would say 6 months is safe, but it can be hard to predict these things sometimes. Good luck!

Should I expect (yes, I know you can't ever "expect" these things, but humor me here) that she gets the visa by, say, October/November? Trying to plan out vacation days and such. Still no NOA2.

first you need to know where your file is

then you can get an idea of how long

your file is probably at a local office now.. check my timeline below.. I filed in February also but had the fortune to go through a local office that was not buried.

When I called and entered my receipt number, it gives the same message it has since they received it. From my understanding, it is at the National Benefits Center.

since August, almost all 130's have been routed to a local office.. this is posted on the uscis site. you can only find out after you talk to an IO (tier 2 human)

search uscis or vj and you will get confirmation on that one

so do I call the 800 number on the USCIS website and ask to speak to a tier 2 officer?

Eventually it will probably be sent to a local office to be adjudicated. Whatever USCIS office is closest to the petitioner's residence.

The petitioner doesn't need to call but if they want to, follow the advice that has been given on how to talk to a teir 2 aka ISO.

My NOA1 date was 12/21/2012. We were routed to the NBC. My file status online remained unchanged through the entire time. I got an interview notice on March 20th that I had an interview scheduled for April 23rd. It wasnt until then that I was able to get confirmation that my file was at my local office. I know some people get their NOA2 without every having confirmation that their petition was at the local office.
