Wrong gender in BC

My wife's gender on her BC is male. I want to know if this will cause problem on her CR1 processing. I want to know what to do for the future. Thanks

Yes I'm sure it's going be an issue. Who is going to be the "wife" and who is going to be the "husband" in terms of immigration forms/paperwork? Who's the "male" and who's the female"?

Please go get the BC rectified.

lol you thought that would not be an issue? it's best she gets it corrected now before its late otherwise they will say she lied on her birth certificate

just forget about that birth certificate go get a new one

Her birth certificate listed her as male? Yes, that will be a problem. Have it changed before your case progresses and causes delays

Right. The foreign spouse's birth certificate is needed at the NVC stage of the process, AFTER the petition is approved. If there is an error on the certificate, get a new corrected one. If it is NOT an error (your spouse IS a male or had a sex change operation) that's a different story.

Thank you for your response, it is clerical error by the registrar because of her name ( Rexie sounds like boy to them). And no she doesn't had sex change, we have a 2 month beautiful baby girl now.

In my experience here, some people need that kind of thing to get their undivided attention, so they'll listen to what you're saying. It worked. I'm here to help people be successful in their processes. I can only do that if they are listening carefully. It's so much less work I can get their attention the first time.
