Damaged case files due to a burst pipe? What a load of bull***t!! I do not believe that for a second.. just another escuse to keep people waiting. It makes me mad that my fiance fought for his country in the U.S. Army and Marines for many years, doing the Governments dirty work.. so if theres ###### on our application they should damn well do our dirty work!!

yes it is true I am on hold for a tier 2 rep right now at USCIS, they asked how did I know like I wasn't supposed to know.

Just sent an email to the ombudsman.. let's see what happens.

To be honest, I am about ready to put my congressman on blast and post his name all over this forum as someone who is very unhelpful. I've called his office to no avail, then I emailed his office again last week and so far have not gotten an reply except for his stupid newsletter that I'm guessing I was autosubscribed to. grrr

If the files are destroyed, how can they start working on them? I really don't understand all this. Your congressman says to wait until they start to work on them? How? Destroyed means gone.

They can work on other file dates than those affected by the flood.

This has gone beyond ridiculous! I just called to ask about this. There are concerns but they cannot clarify nor confirm if any applications have indeed been ruined due to the plumbing issues. Sounds like they are buying more time to me. He suggested that I send an email to ncsc-customerconnect@uscis.dhs.gov with the following info: Name of Petitioner or Applicant, Receipt #,Summary of Concern, Telephone #. Expect a response in 10 days he said.

I have access to journalists and investigative reporters at national shows. I've decided to go to them to help us get more answers. Maybe they will help shine the light on what's really happening at this service center. Ugh! Going on 7 months next week.

Well someone posted this good news for you guys. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/422555-quick-response-from-ombudsman-csc/

I chose to email our form letter to the Ombudsman office and I sent a personal letter to the Director. I sent the email out Sunday and received a response this morning. I would like to copy the exact response here but there was a big warning at the bottom of the email response that said I need to get permission to forward the email.

Here is the content of the email:

The CSC processing time has slipped due to competeing agency priorities. CSC is currently shifting resources to address the I-129F. As resources are assigned the CSC expects the processing time for the I-129F to be reduced.

Guys,

Keep up the emails, keep up the letters, keep on writting your senators and congressmen. We are faced with a huge political battle and we are "David" in this battle.. Pressure,,Pressure,,Pressure is the only mechanism that will help us prevail. I beleive CSC is feeling that pressure now.

Just got this same response from the ombudsman.

first i am tired of being treated for 4 years like a crimianl who is trying to cheat the government. i have been married now for 3 and have gone thru Hell with our system.

they are treating illiegals better than us.

My neighbor here on a 2 year work visa from Germany was able to get his Phillipine wife here in 5 months. i was born here and struggle with all the RFE's.

I hired a lawyer, wrote to both Senators and my Congressman. No help.

I am ready to go live in another country and give this one up.

As a followup to the general email that many of us are sending to the ombudsman, I got a response saying they are realigning resources. I then immediately responded asking him to confirm or deny the water damage, and this is the response I just received a few minutes ago:

"Although the center was closed for 2 days, there was minimal down time and all files affected by the water damage are available for staff to work in date order."

So evidently there really was water damage. They just won't say how bad it was and what we're supposed to do about it, if anything. :(

This is my response from the ombudsman

The Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) processing time at the California Service Center (CSC) has slipped based on competing agency priorities. The CSC is realigning resources to address the processing times for certain forms to include the Form I-129F. As additional officers are assigned to this workload, the center expects to reduce the current processing time for Form I-129F. Although the center was closed for 2 days, there was minimal down time and all files affected by water are available for staff to work in date order.
