Hi, sorry for some repeat questions. I know I've read some of these questions/answers here before, but couldn't find them again and I'm having trouble remembering the right answer to the following questions.

1. I'm asking on behalf of the beneficiary in my case, can the beneficiary schedule an appointment for the required pre embassy interview medical before we receive our NOA2 ? I seem to remember a mixed consensus on whether or not this was advisable.

2. Also, besides the medical, filled out paperwork and documentation such as passport, criminal record etc. what else can the beneficiary do to prepare for the embassy interview ? I'm especially wondering about things that can potentially take days/weeks to complete (such as a doctors appointment for the medical).

We are trying to make this process as efficient as possible and would like to anticipate next steps based on other petitioners experiences with the process. Hoping to eliminate any potential delay that can occur due to us. Thanks everyone, this site has been most helpful.

1. I dont think you can schedule for medical and interview before ur noa2. My fiance is in KSA and based on US embassy in KSA we have to wait for the actual NOA2 before medical and interview.

2. You also need ur affidavit of support, pay stubs, letter of employment, tax returns, pictures, ds 230, police clearances etc....

Yea, I know I can't schedule the interview, but I was wondering about the medical. As far as papers go I think we have everything, the medical is the only thing that can potentially hold us up since we will be dependent on when the doctor has an open place for scheduling, which is why I wanted to get it done before NOA2.

No

No, all if covered if you include police certificates from every country she lived in for more than 6 months after she turned 16.

Vaccination records?

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Is there a proper form that needs to be filled out for the medical exam ? I thought I remember someone saying you need a case number or something that comes with NOA2 before you can get the medical exam. I'm looking here http://slovakia.usembassy.gov/fiance-visas-k1.html for the list of things the beneficiary will need to have, but all it says is "Medical Exam, see info" but I don't see any info on the page about it.

Pardon me, but "no" what ? I will ask my fiancee about vaccination records.

No, in Slovakia you don't need any case # there's no such a thing.

I just had my vaccination record and medical history book with me. I sat down at the doctors, she asked a few questions and filled out some papers and gave me a big sealed envelope for the embassy.

However, when you schedule your medical, you need to make sure you have your syphilis test done! Yes, weird I don't know why the heck lol, but whatever.

Oh and chest xray!

I got those 2 done and then I called the doc to schedule an appointment with her. The fee was like 40 euros only I think.

Please review the Consulate page in your Country Portal, soonish.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I'm very grateful. Everyday I'm thinking about this process and new questions come into my head. I'm not panicked or worried, but sometime I'm a little anxious about messing something up. The process is so long as it is, I'd hate to make it longer from some fault of my own.

Yeah it's a pain. Another "fun time" starts once she moves to the states.

You're not a resident yet, nor resident of your home country. There are always some troubles ( getting state id, changing name on ssn, joint taxes etc) never ending story :)

Can't wait to be done with uscis lol it's pretty exhausting haha

Wow, it does sound exhausting ! But at least when she moves here we can go through it all together. Waiting sucks. One thing you said caught my attention though, she will no longer be a resident of her home country...does that mean she will no longer be a Slovak citizen ? I thought she would have dual citizenship for the US and Slovakia ?

OK - that's very bizarre. I looked after you wrote this, as well.

Holy Molies .

Have some free time? Want to write up entry for this USEmbassy? I'll bother the site owner, ask for a new record in the database. Once that's done, you can edit/add info there.

No, residency and citizenship are 2 different things!

I am no longer a Slovak resident but still a Slovak citizen.

At this point I'm still waiting for permanent residency here.

Before she leaves, she should not forget about some things.

Cancel her Slovak permanent residency, in her home town (tell her matrika - urad)

With this paper she needs to go the local police dept and give them her Slovak state id back. ( these 2 steps mean she officially canceled her permanent resindecy )

Then she needs to go to her health insurance provider with the copies from "matrika" and police dptm and they will cancel her Slovak health insurance.

I mean she doesn't not need to do this really but hey this is the best way!

In Slovakia you need to have a health insurance. If you don't pay for it you might get screwed up later in life when they find out.

One of the ways you don't need to pay is when you don't live there.

I'm sorry it's hard for me to explain in english. Let her know this info and if she has any questions I will gladly explain in Slovak
